AI infrastructure and government AI in the UAE

Headquartered in Dubai, building for the 50% agentic-government target

GridStudio is a Dubai-headquartered AI infrastructure and software group. We help UAE federal and emirate entities, banks and enterprises plan compute, deploy sovereign AI and ship agentic services.

The context in the UAE

50%

of federal government services and operations

moving to agentic AI within two years

On 23 April 2026 the UAE Cabinet set a two-year target: half of government sectors, services and operations run on autonomous, agentic AI, with ministers and federal entities assessed on how fast they adopt it.

national-scale compute is arriving

The first 200 MW phase of the Stargate UAE cluster is targeted for 2026. Compute is becoming a national asset, and agencies now plan capacity, not just licences.

National Strategy for AI

a strategy that has had a minister since 2017

The UAE appointed the world's first Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence in 2017 and runs its programme against the National Strategy for AI 2031.

What we build here

Rules we design for

Federal PDPL (Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021)
The federal personal data law. Government data and free-zone data follow their own regimes, so map each dataset before choosing where a model runs.
DIFC Data Protection Law (DIFC Law No. 5 of 2020) and Regulation 10
DIFC adds specific rules for autonomous and semi-autonomous systems that process personal data: notice, purpose and accountability for the system's output.
ADGM Data Protection Regulations 2021
Abu Dhabi Global Market's own regime, close to GDPR in structure. Relevant when the deployment or the data controller sits in ADGM.
UAE Charter for the Development and Use of AI
National principles on safety, privacy, bias and human oversight that public-sector buyers increasingly write into tenders.

Insights on the UAE

Questions

Yes. GridStudio is headquartered in Dubai, at Arenco Tower in Dubai Internet City, and is a member of the Dubai AI Campus in DIFC. We also have offices in Istanbul, Lisbon, New York and Cairo.

Yes. We design for in-country residency by default: open-weight or licensed models hosted in UAE data centres or on the client's own estate, with logs that show where every inference ran. Air-gapped deployments are possible where the data classification requires it.

We start with a service inventory: which services are high volume, rule-based and low risk enough to move first. Then we build agents for those with human sign-off and audit trails, and measure resolution, time saved and cost per task so the entity can report progress.

Yes. We are provider-neutral: we size the workload, compare UAE sovereign cloud, hyperscaler regions and owned GPUs, and recommend the option with the best total cost and compliance fit.
