GITEX Global 2026 at Expo City Dubai: a planning note for government and enterprise AI buyers

GITEX Global, the region’s largest technology show, changes both its date and its home in 2026. Instead of October at Dubai World Trade Centre, it runs in December, with the summit at DWTC on 7 December and the exhibition at Expo City Dubai from 8 to 11 December.

For government and enterprise AI buyers, the week is the year’s densest concentration of vendors, ministries and investors in one city. Used well, it can compress months of market scanning into a few days.

Before the week

• Write down the problem, not the product. “Cut licence processing time by half” gets better meetings than “looking at agentic AI”.
• Shortlist by layer. Separate infrastructure (compute, data centres), platforms (models, orchestration) and delivery partners. Meet each group with different questions.
• Book meetings early. The new venue is larger, and travel between DWTC and Expo City takes planning.

Questions worth asking every AI vendor

1. Where does the model run, and can you prove the data stays in the UAE?
2. What does the audit trail show for each action the system takes?
3. How does the system hand a case to a person?
4. Which parts are open-weight, which are licensed, and what happens if the licence changes?
5. What did a comparable client measure after six months?

What to watch this year

• Agentic government. With the federal target of 50% of services and operations on agentic AI within two years, expect most government stands to show agents, not chatbots. Read our 24-month roadmap.
